Vanessa Hudgens is opening up most her separate from longtime swain Zac Efron, and saying it was the couple's busy schedules which made it arduous to reassert their relationship.

"When you don't hit face-to-face time, it's meet different. Having an iPhone helped, but it wasn't the same," the 22-year-old example said in the new supply of Shape magazine.

"Long-distance relationships are hard no matter what," Vanessa added.

The couple, who met on the ordered of "High School Musical" in 2005 and yet separate in Dec 2010, grew up together and were by each other's side to check digit another's occupation blossom.

"It was pleasant to hit someone to deal every of those experiences with" Vanessa told Shape.

Despite their split, the digit remain close friends and Zac even visits her on the ordered of her new movie, "Journey 2: The Mysterious Island."

She also credits Zac with serving her reassert a down-to-earth personality.

"The relation kept me grounded, and because I was with someone who knew me so well, I didn't need to try to be someone I'm not," she explained.

Their friendship seems to be filled with only fond memories of the past for the starlet.

"It was a beatific thing," she told the mag.
