Top Chef bad boy Marcel Vigneron brings his culinary chemistry ordered and perfectionist attitude to the Syfy preparation exhibit Marcel's Quantum Kitchen, which premieres weekday at 10/9c.

So how does a preparation exhibit wind up on a science-fiction network? "It's mainly most understanding the science behindhand cooking," he tells TVGuide.com. "We're creating a lot of the things people haven't seen before and hit never done before, so that's where you intend the fiction."

Vigneron is a master of molecular gastronomy, a preparation call that uses innovative techniques to modify mediocre matter ingredients into surprising newborn forms. In the series, he converts intoxicant into pasta, transforms melon into tuna-like sushi and yes, modify creates sparkle — his selection technique as Top Chef fans know-- from tomatoes. "It's not just foam. I hit a full newborn bag of tricks up my sleeve," he says.

Vigneron module put every his scientific magic to impact for his newborn catering business, which is where Quantum Kitchen begins. In each of the sextet episodes, a client module hire him to create an avant garde fantasy schedule supported upon themes such as romance, wildlife or, in one instance, a luau. To be sure, this is no "how-to" preparation show, but for every "Himalayan Tiger's Breath" and "Edible Engagement Ring" Vigneron conjures up, he does scramble out accompanying mad scientist-wear (i.e. country goggles are in heavy rotation.)

"Are we act lab coats? No," Vigneron says. " It's a lot same Entourage. You'll wager us cruising around in civilian clothes having a really beatific time. There's a lot of nutriment and wit throughout the show, a lot of threefold entendres because you know how we are in the kitchen. You can commonly related matter to anything you're conversation about."

Joining Vigneron in the kitchen hijinks are friend and mixologist county Espinosa, rocker and diddley of every trades Jarrid Masse and caterer Robyn Wilson. None of them hit had experience preparation avant garde cuisine, which Vigneron finds to be a mixed blessing.

"They communicate the 'whys' and 'hows for the viewers at home," he reveals. "Or they'll be messing things up and the prizewinning artefact to learn how something actually happens is to wager it intend messed up. They are constantly burning clog and mis-weighing ingredients and breaking emulsions, so for me it gets a little taste preventative but I conceive also rattling recreation to watch."

Only a taste frustrating? "I'm not feat to lie, sometimes I intend a taste disturbed when I hit these wacky ideas and ambitious menus," Vigneron says. "Because I hit broad expectations and sometimes they'll just be joking around. I'll be like, 'Look guys, this is real. This is an event. This is a company. We are catering this party, and these people are hungry. Stop joking around and do some work.'"

Of course, his co-workers aren't the exclusive ones who'll hit to center it. His clients module also be getting super servings of Vigneron's signature sharp ness and bolshy ways. One module not-so-affectionately call him "sneaky crooked Marcel."

Marcel fans, are you excited to watch? The exhibit delivers the fanciful foods and episode he's famous for... but we're still waiting to wager whether his freestyle skills attain it on air.
