LOS ANGELES (Reuters) - President Barack Obama and standpat TV host Bill O'Reilly strength seem same an odd couple to some, but they recently place aside some semipolitical differences and teamed up to improve nearly $750,000 for U.S. expeditionary families.

And that sum is still growing.

The standpat author of Fox News channel's "The O'Reilly Factor," likened his charitable pact with the liberal-leaning chair to the spirit of cooperation between Republicans and Democrats that recently has arisen in Washington, D.C.

"What I'm ever hunting to do is intend outside of myself and support grouping who need help, and the chair got that correct away," O'Reilly told Reuters.

The story goes same this.

Heading into his pre-Super Bowl interview with Obama -- the ordinal time O'Reilly had grilled the chair -- the author intellection his notes strength hit some forthcoming value.

After the modify of their televised talk, which at times place the two at odds, O'Reilly asked Obama if he would sign his research notes as long as O'Reilly used the writing and mode to improve money for a charitable cause.

The chair agreed and advisable O'Reilly give the money to Fisher House, a non-profit assemble that builds and maintains "comfort homes" on the grounds of U.S. expeditionary scrutiny centers where families stay while their idolized ones are existence treated.

"He is a regular guy," O'Reilly said of the president. "He gets it correct away. He was like, 'Fisher House,' and boom, I was correct there" with him.

Since then, grouping hit been healthy to donate $500 to the charitable methodicalness and in return, intend a copy of the notes with Obama's mode and O'Reilly's hand-signed sign on the same document.

"I intellection we strength improve $500,000 and correct now, we're at just below $750,000," O'Reilly said.

Dave Coker, the chair of the Fisher House Foundation, said by next week, the effort should interbreed the $750,000 mark. O'Reilly hopes to intend to $1 million.

"It is been an unexpected blessing, but we're in the support business," Coker said. "We don't advertise and believe that if we focus on providing the service, beatific things will happen, and this is a amend warning of that."

Because of O'Reilly's standpat semipolitical views, most grouping strength think of him as existence an antagonist to Obama on almost everything, but the author said that's not true.

In O'Reilly's view, he has been clean in his assessments -- beatific or bad -- of the chair and his policies. O'Reilly said the proof is Obama granting him the Super Bowl interview in February.

"I want to hit a respectful relation with the President of the United States, no concern who it is," he said.
